All international candidates who seek to enter Russian university are required to submit information on their educational background, i.e. present original certificate/diploma obtained.
Diploma Recognition (Nostrification)
According to Russian legislation, education qualifications obtained in foreign countries must be recognized by the Russian Ministry of Science and Education in order to confirm the level of completed education for admission to Russian universities.
In some cases (depends on country) applicants must pass the procedure of recognition (nostrification) of their education degrees by submitting the documents to the National Information Centre.
Therefore, Russian State Social University advises international applicants to check in advance if diploma nostrification is needed by sending the request to DIA@rgsu.net.
Nostrification process in brief
The following documents must be submitted personally or online to the National Information Center:
- Application form
- Diploma with the transcripts (original)
- Copy of the diploma and its certified translation into Russian language
- Copy of the passport and its certified translation into Russian language
Applicants are required to register on the web-site http://www.nic.gov.ru/, fill in the application form online, attach scan copies of the papers required. After the recognition process is done (approximately 45 days) applicants have to provide the originals personally to the National Information Centre.
